Who pays my expenses if I'm in an accident? The first item listed on all auto insurance policy I have seen is Bodily Injury/Property Damage. My agent told me that means Bodily Injury/ Property damage- that I am responsible to the other guy. Though the primary item on most policies is BI/PD, which insures people who may be a stranger, or just meet by accident, many coverages in your auto insurance policy directly cover your health. But if you examine it in minute detail, you will see that, although the money goes to someone else, if you don't have enough insurance,you will be paying the loss yourself
